As many of you know my son suffers from an extremely rare disorder that affects only about 300 children in the entire WORLD.
Unfortunately, with so few children affected by this order, there is no federal or state funding for research and the 300 families have been working hard raising money to keep research going.
This year the University of Utah, Duke and Vanderbilt worked together and have placed Alternating Hemiplegia of Childhood (AHC) under RARE DISORDERS. They are getting closer to the gene that is causing this disorder. See the message below from the AHCF Medical Liaison & AHCF Coordinator.
We have a goal to raise $1,000,000 by the end of 2012 to help fund the next phase of our research, developing clinical drug trials and genetic therapies.
If you are able to help in this search for a cure, your donation, no matter what amount, will be gratefully appreciated.
On a personal note, I have not asked ADC clients for donations in 3 years due to the economy. With NEW medical findings I am now asking for your help.
