Your Role:
We’re looking for a self-motivated, dynamic Virtual Accounting Manager to lead a team of bookkeepers assigned to various clients.
How you will contribute:
The Accounting Manager provides day-to-day leadership to a team of bookkeepers assigned to various clients. Must have proven ability to effectively work with multiple clients and ability to prioritize multiple deliverables simultaneously. Coordinate and oversee quarterly closes every month, on a rotational basis. Oversee and manage all financial reports and contracted services for clients to ensure they are conducted in an accurate, seamless and timely fashion. The Accounting Manager is responsible for mentoring, providing timely feedback, and performance reviews on all staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage the quarterly close functions for designated clients, including oversight of the reconciliation process, review of the general ledger, and preparations of the Financial Reports package
- Oversees all client deliverables such as: document check lists, A/R & A/P Reports, Financial Reports on accrual and Cash basis, sales and use tax reports, payroll reconciliations and commission reports. Ensure reports are accurate and delivered in a timely manner
- Identify areas for improvement and/or tools that can be utilized to gain efficiencies for assigned clients
- Support, train, and mentor a team of bookkeepers. This includes conducting performance reviews, managing deliverables, developing goals, setting expecta tions, and providing ongoing feedback on performance and development opportunities
- Facilitate team meetings
- Other duties or special projects as needed within time constraints
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 7 years of progressive professional accounting experience, preferably in the under $20mm market
- Solid understanding of payroll process
- 3 – 5 years of strong, hands-on management experience and demonstrated ability to develop and mentor a team
- Proficient at providing feedback (ideas and/or recommendations for improvements) to staff members and management
- Excellent customer service
- Must be flexible; changes focus quickly as demands change with assignments
- Highly organized and work independently.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to adapt and maintain professionalism in fast paced environment
- Strong problem solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet multiple deadlines
- High degree of computer literacy, including Adobe and Outlook
- Ability to acclimate to various client environments
Minimum Education and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- QuickBooks experience required
- CPA
- Two or more years of public accounting experience required
- Tax experience preferred
