Topics: small business

We typically write extensively on best practices in bookkeeping services, new trends in accounting technology or even simple "how-to's" for operating and managing your accounting programs. However, today we're changing it up a little bit to talk about something we're actively working on--and we hope you can help us. Mission Main St GrantIf you don't have time read further, please just go vote for us. Otherwise, read on to see how we're about to disrupt the bookkeeping industry (but, we still need your help).

Mission Main Street Grants by Chase

On Friday, October 3, 2014 we submitted our preliminary profile and questionnaire to be considered for a $150,000 grant from Chase for Small Businesses. They're looking for 20 recipients to win $150k grants in January 2015--and we think we could do great things if we win one.

We have some pretty advanced goals for disrupting the bookkeeping services industry, from becoming the bookkeeping company of choice for the country's best bookkeeping professionals to expanded our employee professional development programs. Currently 98% of our 55 bookkeepers, controllers and implementation specialists hold at least one professional designation or certification each. We're very proud of this--and even more proud that more than 60% of our employees hold two or more designations. But we know we can do even more and this grant can help us do more, faster.

Our History of Excellence

One of the defining features of our business development through our ten year history was our prioritization of establishing process and infrastructure over rapidly acquiring new clients. By expanding our staff ranks slowly and putting training and development efforts first, we placed limitations on our client acqusition rate rather than pressure on our staff and services. While some may wonder why not grow as quickly as possible, we did not. Our focus was and will continue to be on providing excellence in bookkeeping and financial management over all else. And it is this attention to detail and devotion to our craft that has enabled us to become the leading provider of bookkeeping and controller services for small businesses up to $25 million in annual revenue. But now we're poised to do far more--And you can help.

A Grant For Us is a Grant for Small Business

Winning this grant will enable us to expand employee development programs, improve recruitment opportunities for best of bookkeeping and controller professionals and invest more in marketing and sales development. This grant will allow us to extend our services to a growing group of small businesses, SMBs that need enterprise-level expertise without enterprise-level fees. By support AccountingDepartment.com for this grant, voters will also be supporting the many small businesses that our experts support daily. But that's not all.

AccountingDepartment.com is a proud support of family values, with a family-focused and family first company culture. Our employee demographics are almost entirely working parents balancing the demands of professional careers alongside personal obligations. We're proud that our company structure enables our staff to manage work life balances without sacrificing anything. We support the ability of professional working parents to have full-time, W-2 careers without sacrificing their personal lives. As our company grows to meet its potential, we are proud to say we're on track to quadruple our workforce and help even more working professionals attain the ideal work environment with an employer that truly cares about both its staff and small business.

We Need Your Vote

Please vote for our company to move to the final review stage for this grant. Voting closes October 17, 2014 and your vote matters. Thank you!
